PWM Traction/Brake encoder - SIL0 or SIL2
A range of PWM traction encoders used to control the traction/brake train lines. The EMCO+ product developped for the SNCF NAT trainset has a safety integrity level of SIL2 and controls the pneumatic brakes.
'EMCO AGC' SIL0 PWM encoder
The EMCO AGC PWM traction-brake encoder has the following functionalities: Emission of the traction and brake efforts set values calculated from the master controller on the PWM train lines, Automatic speed control (VI, cruise control), Coupling up and decoupling (speed regulated at 3 km/h by the PWM encoder), Automatic ‘Deadman’ activation on driver’s activity, Control of Traction /Brake effort indicator and of the automatic speed control indicator.

'EMCO+' SIL2 PWM encoder
The EMCO+ product initially developped for the SNCF NAT trainset has a safety integrity level of SIL2 and controls the pneumatic brakes. It includes all the functionalities of the EMCO AGC and has an ethernet connection.
